Yes we've just signed up as part of The Society of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock, I'm not sure what that is, I wonder if it means going to meetings in 3000 year old Longhouses where Dark Viking lords quaff ales and spout hearty demonic epithets, at any rate what it means for all of us is that INITIAL is going to be on at Oblivion on August 16th, so scratch that into your scroll of torment.

We have recently joined forces with the Auckland Uni Rock Club, who will be doing all they can to bring our tunes to your ears, using the shortest route available. That is, live - in a bar.

There will be a couple of other bands, and I'm not sure exactly what time we will be on yet, but aim for when the sun goes down and you should be OK.

So I ask of you once again to call upon every soul to join us for an evening of festivities and merry drunkenness, and I can promise you will have the time of your night.

Bush Party W Pirates

So we played a christmas party a little while back - just thought I'd share it with you.

Basically it turns out that the workers in the valley across the road hear us practice every tuesday night in Stillwater, and are big fans of the initials! (wow, that would be our indie rock name) Pete, who runs the show, asked us if we wanted to play at their end of year party/bbq. So that saturday we set up on a large wooden stage in the bush, the weather was bloody stunning, and everyone had a great time.

Everyone except whoever called noise control.

Yes, after playing for around 3 hours, noise control was called out at around 5:30pm - we toned it down a bit, and proceeded to play for another hour and a bit. At about 7:30 we were told we were allowed one more song. We made up the loudest, most abrasive metal song we could think of, and let it rip.

Twas a great day.

That was a little song I wrote about our upcoming gig at Verona at 169 K road.
Thats right! The concert that was to be, then was to be later, then was not to be - now is to be! Again.
And its gonna be radical!
Tell your mum and your cat you wont be coming home til sunrise. Tell your doctor to order you a new liver or three. Tell your accountant to fuck off and tell your kids that being gay is OK, but if they turn emo you will crush them.

So bring all your hot friends and bring your ugly friends too. This is gonna be a block-rockin, ear smashing, bass twanging night of song for one and all.

Verona Cancelled

Hello Initialites,

Sadly the gig on the 11th @ Verona has been double booked and therefore cancelled.
While we are utterly gutted to miss an op to play for everyone, we still have our demo recording this Saturday and will be handing out demo disks the following week, as well as adding the tracks for download on site.

This gig may yet be rescheduled, so keep a watch on the calender ( http://initial.net.nz/forum/index.php?action=calendar )
